Join Historic Christ Church & Museum volunteers for a bus trip to Richmond. Begin the morning with a walking tour of Hollywood Cemetery, America's second most visited cemetery and resting place of two U.S. Presidents (Monroe, Tyler); six Virginia governors; Jefferson Davis, J.E.B. Stuart & other Confederate leaders; Ellen Glasgow; and two Supreme Court justices. *Please note this is a two-hour walking tour.

After Hollywood journey to the First Freedom Center, built on the site where the Virginia General Assembly passed Thomas Jefferson’s landmark Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom on January 16, 1786. Exhibitions trace the history of religious liberty in Virginia from European traditions to the present. A 27-foot limestone monument stands outside.

Following lunch at Liberty Public House in Church Hill, stroll down to historic St. John's for a private reenactment of Patrick Henry’s famous speech there at the Second Virginia Convention on March 23, 1775. If you have not seen this before you are in for a real treat with this powerful, moving performance of one of the great events in Virginia history. We will also get the chance to see St. John’s original and recently restored sounding board--it's incredible!

Tickets include admissions, bus, lunch and breakfast treats on ride up with wine/cheese on ride home. Payment is non-refundable due to need to reserve bus.

Fee: $75.00. Purchase tickets at christchurch1735.ticketleap.com.
