March 21-April 22: 4th-Grade Northern Neck History Fair Exhibition Exhibits and essays from the 2009 4th-Grade Northern Neck History Fair on display March 21-March 28, Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., at Rappahannock Art League Studio Gallery, Main Street, Kilmarnock. On display at Historic Christ Church March 31-April 22, Monday-Friday, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Sponsored by the Foundation for Historic Christ Church, Bank of Lancaster, Bay Trust, and Rappahannock Art League Studio Gallery.

April 25: Grand Opening, Carter Reception Center, Museum and Gift Shop at Historic Christ Church  Doubled in size, the new museum reveals even more of the story of this unique architectural treasure and the people who built it. Interactive displays, newly unearthed artifacts, hands-on stations for children, and other treasures. Shoppers and scholars will find a distinctive selection of gifts, books, specialty items in the expanded Gift Shop.

April 26: Kirkin of the Tartan Traditional Scottish blessing & celebration. Full tartan/Scottish church service. Bagpipes, drums, & marching parade. 12:30 p.m.

May 21: Annual Meeting 51st Annual Meeting of the Foundation for Historic Christ Church. 11:00 a.m. Boxed lunch on the lawn. Reservations required.

May 25: Memorial Day Service Sponsored by the Retired Military Officers Association of America and the American Legion. 11:00 a.m.

July 11: Ice Cream Social on "Second Saturday" at Historic Christ Church Family fun with tasty ice cream treats in a historic setting. Colonial games and crafts. Church tours and museum exhibitions. Children of all ages welcome. 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

July 23: "Hands-On History Day" at Historic Christ Church Explore the history of colonial Virginia through hands-on activities with archaeology, eighteenth-century brickmaking, grave rubbings, and other exciting lessons. 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Ages 6-12. October 4: Harpsichord Ensemble of 18th-Century Music Thomas Marshall performs on the harpsichord and Ruth van Baak Griffioen on the recorder. 3:00 p.m. Reception to follow. October:  Volunteer Job Fair  Come discover the joys of volunteer life at Historic Christ Church. Learn about all the exciting areas in which you can serve to help sustain this unique cultural and historic resource. 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

December 7: "The Holly & The Ivy" Celebrate the season at Historic Christ Church with traditional songs, carols, and music. Join in this seasonal songfest in the beautifully "greened" church. 3:00 p.m.
